SONGS OF STONE – POETIC ECHOES FROM THE ‘HOUSE OF THE LIVING’

A group of young poets will take turns in giving voice to some ancient epitaphs recently translated from Hebrew.

This is a poetry competition based on suggestions from the ‘house of the living’ (literal translation of the word cemetery in Hebrew).

The event is being held in collaboration with Rimescolate, which defines its contribution as follows: “Starting from the translations of some epitaphs from the 16th and 17th centuries of tombs found in the Jewish cemeteries of Padua and from the suggestions on the culture that gravitates around them, we have tried to return in verse the questions and answers that this immersion has aroused in us.
The voices of Giampaolo Marcolin, Claudia Agata Muscianisi, Sergio Ricotta and Luca Tironi will alternate.

To conclude, we invite you to share a kosher aperitif.

Rimescolate, a poetic project promoted by the Cultural Association Olive a pArte. Rimescolate is committed to creating spaces for dialogue and poetic expression through poetry slams, themed open mics, performance poetry shows and workshops.

The event was made possible thanks to the contribution of the Veneto Region.

The meeting point is the MUSEO DELLA PADOVA EBRAICA – Via delle Piazze, 26 – 35122 Padua (PD).
